Attendance Update

Next school year, Oakwood Schools will be sending attendance notifications regularly to ALL families regarding their child's attendance in school.  These notifications will meet a required change in attendance policy legislated at the State level, and are intended to be informational.  We are hoping to stimulate a positive conversation related to student attendance, and proactively provide interventions/support for families who want to improve their child's attendance.

These notifications will arrive via an email to caregivers.  Each notice will include individual student attendance data alongside building and district averages.  Caregivers will be able to make a comparison reflecting whether their child is inline with other students, above or below.  Our goal is for all students to be in school for 90% or more of their total instructional hours over the course of the year.

You will begin seeing monthly articles in the Oakwood Register related to school attendance in July.  These articles are intended to inform families about the changes and how the components of our Attendance Policy function. Also, you will be able to find updated attendance information for each building and the district on the school's website.
